Seasons of New Zealand


New Zealand has four seasons like Japan.

Spring is from September to November. Temperatures rise and hours of sunlight become long. Grapes are harvested and start to make wine. Wine festival is held in many of grape-producing district. Festivals about arts, cultures and gardening are also held. Trees of fruit farms are in full flowers. Skiers enjoy last snow in the skiing ground.

Summer is from December to February. Summer is the best season that trekking and fishing and you can enjoy swimming, sun bath, surfboad and sailboat in the beach. There are long holiday spend with family include Christmas. People refresh in cottage and go to beach and enjoy playing cricket like baseball.

Autumn is from March to May. Autumnal colors of red, yellow and gold are beautiful season and there are many festivals. For example, Festival of Color and Wildfoods Festival. Temperatures go down but climate become steady.

Winter is from June to august. Winter sports are popular in the middle north island and south island. People can enjoy skiing in internationally famous skiing ground and can relax in hot spring. Also people enjoy shopping at shop of designer’s brand and eating dinner in first-class restaurant.
